Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation is a program of support, exercise and education that’s led by health professionals and personalised to strengthen your heart. It helps you make long-term lifestyle changes and aids recovery after a heart event, procedure or the diagnosis of a heart condition.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation multidisciplinary team is run by an Exercise Physiologist and Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse. Others involved are Dietitians, Social work and Occupational Therapist.
What we offer
We offer an eight week rehabilitation program, delivered at the Community Rehabilitation Centre at the Nhill Hospital every Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm. A fee of $5 will be charged for attendance at each session.
Each session involves measuring your blood pressure, pulse and weight; followed by an exercise session led by an Exercise Physiologist and Allied Heath Assistant; and finishes up with a telehealth education session, with topics relating to health, lifestyle and the heart.
Through the program, you will learn how to exercise for your own condition, and be given the support and resources to make healthy life choices.
How to access
Before starting the Cardiac Rehabilitation program you will undergo an assessment with our Exercise Physiologist to determine your current fitness level and eligibility to undertake the program.
