WWHS AGM 2025

West Wimmera Health Service held the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Kaniva Hospital on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. Board Chair Gary Simpson welcomed attendees, including Board Directors, staff, members of the Victorian Department of Health, community members, and online viewers.

The Chair paid tribute to former WWHS Chair Katherine Colbert for her nine years of service, noting her leadership and advocacy in maintaining WWHS as a strong stand-alone health service.

Over the past year, WWHS invested in its people, facilities, and systems, with highlights including upgraded clinical equipment, modernised infrastructure, and expansion of community health programs. Looking ahead, WWHS is preparing to meet the demands of an ageing population, competition for skilled health professionals, advances in digital health and AI, and evolving funding and compliance requirements.

The Chair acknowledged the retirement of Director Jo Martin and welcomed new Directors Marcell Judkins and Ryan Arthur. The Chair also acknowledged the challenges of workforce recruitment and retention in rural health and extended sincere thanks to all staff, volunteers, and clinicians for their dedication.

The AGM featured guest speaker Tup Forge, 2025 World Ranch Bronc Riding Titleholder, joining online from Oxley, Victoria. Who gave an overview of her experiences in Bronc riding and discussed providing care at home for her grandmother.

Executive Directors presented reports on their respective divisions, highlighting both past achievements and future plans.

WWHS also celebrated staff milestones, recognising decades of dedicated service across nursing, clinical, administrative, and support roles. Some staff were Janine Clark (40 years), Craig Henley (35 years) and Leonie Graham (25 years). Leslie Robinson, who recently won the Outstanding Contribution to Rural Allied Health Award, was honoured for this achievement and for her Leslie Robinson for her 25 years in diabetes education at West Wimmera Heath Service.
