West Wimmera Health Service is proud to announce it has successfully met the requirements of the Victorian Government Healthy Choices Policy Directive for Victorian Public Health Services. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a healthier environment for our staff and supporting the wellbeing of everyone
who works within our organisation. Each year, WWHS undertakes the Healthy Choices audit to assess how well our food and drink offerings align with statewide health and nutrition standards.
In 2025, WWHS completed the audit solely on the staff-accessible inpatient menu across all sites with a kitchen due to no hospital-run kiosk operating at the audited time. We are pleased to report that our menu met the requirements outlined in the Victorian Government’s Healthy Choices policy directive. The audit examines a range of factors, including the nutritional balance of meals, the use of fresh and high-quality ingredients, the
variety and choice available, and the overall taste and appeal of the menu— ensuring consistency and high-quality standards across the service.
The Healthy Choices program, delivered in partnership with the Healthy Eating Advisory Service, supports Victorian health services to provide healthier food and drink options. At its core, the program is about making the healthier choice, the easier choice—reinforcing WWHS as a workplace that champions health, nutrition, and wellbeing. WWHS will continue to review and improve our food environment to ensure it reflects our values and supports
the health of our staff and community.
