Welcome to West Wimmera Health Service - a smalll health servcie doing big things!
We're the major healthcare provider across a catchment area of some 22,000 square kilometres. That’s almost a third of the size of Ireland!
The area we service encompasses nine rural townships, and traverses internationally renowned National Parks including The Little Desert, the Grampians (known as Gariwerd to our local indigenous peoples for the past 20,000 years) and Mount Arapiles which is known for its world class rock climbing.
We're proud to be one of the largest employers in our region. It means we aren’t just in our community, we are the community. More often than not we genuinely know the people we’re caring for. There’s an unspoken but deep-rooted understanding of our community and lifestyle, and how these intersect with responsive rural health and general wellbeing. It brings a whole new level and meaning to delivering safe, effective, person-centred care.
