Patients are usually admitted to our hospitals following a referral from a GP and a follow-up consultation with a medical specialist.

The designated Admissions & Discharge service helps to administer the scheduling and preparation of patient's admission into hospital and to plan their subsequent return to home and continuum of care. Both public and private patients receive care in West Wimmera Hospitals and the Admission & Discharge team will also help patients to organise their preferred financial arrangements and explain their health cover benefits.
